• Welcome to Philippine Tonan Corporation

  • Philippine Tonan Corporation, is a domestic corporation organized and existing under the laws of the Republic of the Philippines with business address at the 3rd street, Mactan Economic Zone 1, Lapu-Lapu City 6015, Cebu Philippines. Philippine Tonan Corp. or Tonan as usually called by its customers and friends, with its humble beginning in the year 1989, has greatly diversified and added to its line of business operations from manufacturing and fabrication with another major service activity line which is called metal hot dip galvanizing process. With metal galvanized, rust will no longer penetrate. Hot dip galvanizing services was adopted and introduced by Tonan to the market on February 2008. Due to is proven quality, it has gained wide customer acceptance in both local and export market. Keeping its tradition in producing high quality products and services, Tonan is committed to work more in order to achieve optimum product quality and durability. For your queries or order please contact us. We are more than glad to serve you.

We provide innovative product solutions for sustainable progress. Our professional team works to increase productivity and cost effectiveness on the market.

Galvanizing is a process for corrosion protection of steel that consists of specific surface preparation and dipping it into a bath of alloyed zinc at 450°C for 3-10 minutes. Following this process, on the steel surface a coating is formed due to the reaction between Fe and Zn having a metallurgical bond with the substrate, consisting of several layers of intermetallic compounds with different concentrations of zinc. This coating has a very good resistance to corrosion, abrasion, impact and thermal shock.

Note: NO HOT DIP GALVANIZING IN CAVITE FACTORY

Galvanizing requires no special preparation of the surface, this being achieved in the galvanizing process. Welding slag, paint and grease abundance though cannot be removed through the specific surface preparation steps and must be removed being sent to the galvanizer.

Hot-dip galvanized steel resists corrosion in numerous environments extremely well.  Usually the life of hot dip galvanized steel exceeds 70 years depending on the thickness and atmospheric corrosivity or under certain conditions.

Constant exposure to temperatures below 390F (200 C) is a perfectly acceptable environment for hot-dip galvanized steel. Good performance can also be obtained when hot dip galvanized steel is exposed to temperatures above 390F (200 C).

Galvanizing process takes place at a temperature of 450°C or more but not more than 480°C.  This is a temperature at which partial stress relieving of the induced stresses during fabrication can appear that sometimes lead to deformations.  Deformations might also occur due to section differences between materials welded together that cause various expansions and contractions in the material at the immersion in zinc.

A hot dip galvanized metal object can be stored, transported and used in any natural weather conditions, in air, in water, in soil or on soil.  In any of these circumstances the role of corrosion protection of hot dip galvanization is not affected.  Instead the appearance of the coating might change.  White spots may appear of different shades, zinc flower, shiny or matte surfaces etc.  All these aesthetic changes of the hot dip galvanized surfaces occur due to the triggering of the mechanism by which zinc protects the steel and prevents rusting (oxidation).

The metallurgical bond that the coating forms with the substrate layer at the immersion in the molten zinc confers an excellent adhesion and abrasion resistance to the coatings obtained by the hot dip galvanizing.  Zinc intermetallic layers formed during the galvanizing process have a higher hardness than steel substrate.

Zinc on newly galvanized steel is very reactive and wants to form zinc oxidise and zinc hydroxide corrosion products that eventually become the stable zinc carbonate.  When galvanized steel is tightly stacked or stored in wet boxes that don’t allow for free flowing air, the zinc forms excessive layers of zinc hydroxide otherwise known as wet storage stain.  Most wet storage stain can be easily removed with a cleaner or nylon brush.  To prevent wet storage stain, store galvanized steel indoors or block it so that there is ample free-flowing air between each galvanized article.

When compared with paint systems, hot dip galvanizing after has comparable initial application costs and almost always lower life-cycle costs.  In fact, the lower life-cycle costs of a hot dip galvanized project make galvanizing the smart choice for today and tomorrow.

Structural steel (plate, wide flange beams, angles, channels, pipe, tubing) are galvanized to ASTM A123/A 123M.  Fasteners and small parts that fit into a centrifuging basket are galvanized to ASTM A 153/A 153M.  Reinforcing steel is galvanised to ASTM A 767/A 767M.

Powder Coating is an exciting method for finishing products through the application of tiny dry particles.   For this reason, powder coating is sometimes referred to as “dry painting”.  Rather than applying paint in a wet state, we simply referred to as “dry painting”.  Rather than applying the paint in a wet state, we simply use a modern, clean, efficient electrostatic powder coating process that relies on the attraction between charged particles that are fused together.  This process is generally less prone to mistakes than traditional wet spray.

The powder is charged via an electrostatic process, while the part is attached to a ground wire.  This causes the powder to cling to the metal throughout the baking process.

We have the longest powder coating line in Cebu Philippines and we can accommodate big products with large volumes.

We can assure that our powder coating service meets your expectations and quality standards because our company is very strict in implementing the process and follow the Japanese Industrial Standards so that our customers will be satisfied.

Powder Coating is environment friendly, using non-hazardous chemicals, durable and weather resistant.  The powder melts forming a seamless bond around the parts.  This bonding process creates a virtually unbreakable sheet of protection upon the surface of the parts while Wet Spray Painting some of which uses hazardous chemicals which is potential hazards to the environment if not treated accordingly.  It also takes a longer period of time before the wet spray paint stick to the parts being painted.

Electro polishing is an electrochemical process that removes material from a metallic part, typically stainless steel.  The part is immersed in a temperature controlled bath of electrolyte and the part serves as the anode as it is connected to the positive terminal of a DC power rectifier DC and the negative terminal of the rectifier is attached to the cathode which is typically made from an alloys which do not dissolve during the electro polishing process.

Electro polishing process uses a combination of electrolytic chemicals and an electrical current to carefully eliminate imperfections and contaminants of metal part surfaces.  It can be used to polish, deburr, and smooth metal components whereby doing so also causes material removal to occur including the free ions on the surface of the part, a smooth, polished surface can result from electro polishing

Passivation uses solutions like citric and nitric acids instead of an electrical current used in electro polishing to create an inert oxide layer/film and remove free iron and foreign matter from metal surfaces.  It does not change or brighten the surface appearance and is not an effective method for removing surfaces that has been welded with oxide heat effect scale or heat treated.
